Benefits
Test up to 581 triggers from the comfort of your own home with just one finger prick.
The 7DROPS home allergy test measures the patient’s sensitisation status through an in vitro multiplex testing procedure. The result shows the measurement of total IgE (tIgE) which indicates whether an allergy is likely, possible or unlikely. The measurement of specific IgE (sIgE) against 295 allergen extracts and molecular allergens provides a detailed overview of the possible triggers of allergic symptoms. Your final diagnosis must still be made by a specialist.
The 7DROPS food intolerance test measures repeatable IgG responses through an in vitro multiplex testing procedure. Results show measurement of specific IgG levels to 286 food triggers from 13 different food groups (including staples and superfoods).
The 7DROPS Allergy & Food Intolerance Test is a combination test. Our laboratory evaluates the allergy test and the food intolerance test with only one blood sample.
This is what happens to your blood sample from the moment it arrives at our laboratory and before your results are available in your 7DROPS user profile:
1. Upon arrival, your blood sample is checked to see if it is in good condition.
2. If your blood sample gets the green light for processing, it is prepared and then loaded into an automated batch analyser.
3. After processing, the results are uploaded to our servers.
4. Before you receive your results, they go through an internal quality management process.
5. Once the results have been approved, they appear in your 7DROPS user profile and can also be downloaded as a PDF.
IgE stands for immuno-gobulin E – a class of molecules known as immunoglobulins or antibodies. In healthy people, IgE antibodies fight parasitic infections. In allergic people, these antibodies are misdirected and instead fight harmless substances like pollen or mite particles, leading to allergic reactions.
IgG stands for immuno-globulin G – a type of antibody that makes up 75% of human blood serum. The IgG test tests serum or plasma for IgG antibodies instead of IgE antibodies. IgG is also called “memory antibody” because it identifies a memory through contact with food.
CCDs (cross-reactive carbohydrate determinants) are clinically insignificant sugar molecules found on allergens. They can lead to false-positive diagnostic results in allergy and food intolerance tests. One of the key elements of 7DROPS is to automatically block CCDs when processing blood samples to eliminate false positives and increase the accuracy of results.
