The benefits of molecular diagnostics
Our methodology based on molecular diagnostics allows for a flexible, reliable and affordable determination of the sensitisation status of our clients.
We work with an allergen panel consisting of 117 allergen extracts and 178 molecular allergens, making it the largest panel of molecular allergens on the market for IgE allergy testing. The use of molecular allergens leads to a much more precise risk assessment (e.g. the risk of anaphylaxis), a complete mapping of possible cross-allergies, the indication for immunotherapy as well as differentiated dietary recommendations.
Why do we use both allergen extracts and molecular allergens? We use allergen extracts where molecular allergens are not yet well characterised or are irrelevant due to high cross-reactivity. Conversely, we use molecular allergens where allergen extracts are unstable. This combination ensures the most accurate profiling of the patient’s sensitisation status.
Once the lab report is uploaded to the secure 7DROPS platform, patients can consult with allergists or dietitians to take individualised therapeutic measures.
Examples of therapeutic interventions include avoidance of the allergy or intolerance trigger, customised medication or allergen-specific immunotherapy to improve health and quality of life.
